Here’s some American statistics that need to change: 

•1 in 4 women experienced physical violence from an intimate partner. (Source: National Center for Injury Prevention and Control's Division of Violence prevention).

•75% of all domestic abuse murders, occur when the victim is leaving, or shortly there after. (Source: theguardian.com)

•More than 1 in 3 women in the U.S. have experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. (Source: National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey).

•89% of women with companion animals during an abusive relationship reported that their pets were threatened, harmed, or killed by their abusive partner. (Source: Animal Defense Fund)

•American women experience 4.8 million physical assaults and rapes at the hands of their intimate partner every year. (Source: National Organization for Women) 

•More than 33% of domestic abuse victims have survived severe non-fatal violence. (Source: Bureau of Justice Statistics)

•Every day, over 11,300 requests for services from domestic violence survivors go unanswered. (Source: NNEDV- (National network to end domestic violence). 

•9 out of 10 female domestic abuse victims go through extreme emotional distress. Looking at US domestic violence statistics more closely, we learned that more than 47% of them deal with PTSD,

Romans‬ ‭12:19 & 21‬ says:“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

This serves to remind us that God is the ultimate judge. We are not. So do we fight for justice? Absolutely Yes! Do we stand up for the poor and oppressed? Absolutely we must! The way we conquer this evil is by doing good!

One day God will right every wrong! He HAS righted every wrong! Because of JESUS, every sin, every mistake, and every painful action has been paid for, because He PAID it with his life!

Jesus will return! This means that evil has an end date! The righteous anger of God WILL have its full effect! But in the meantime, as His Church, let’s follow Jesus’ example, by showing HIS love, teaching HIS mercy and HIS forgiveness and bringing HIS healing that only HE can provide by bringing HIS word to those who are oppressed and broken because THIS is what God has shown us! We know that God is at work!. He invites his people to partner with him in that work.
